History
The Original Mackinac Island Butterfly House was founded in 1991 by Doug Beardsley, whose dream it was to bring butterflies to Mackinac Island. The butterfly house is the oldest butterfly house in Michigan and the 3rd oldest in the nation. After Doug passed away, Robert Gale bought the business and built it up to mirror his and Doug's vision as an educational facility.
