Blind Pig, located in Ann Arbor, Mich., is a nightclub and concert venue showcasing various musical events and activities. The club, established in 1971, premiered local blues artists from Ann Arbor, Detroit and Chicago areas. It featured some of the legends, such as Koko Tayler, Boogie Woogie Red, Hound Dog Taylor and Roosevelt Sikes. Some others, including Frank Zappa, Bonnie Raitt and Vladmir Horowitz have also been a part of Blind Pig s functions. The club has also featured local acts and touring bands, such as Joan Baez, Bo Diddley and George Thoroughgood. In addition, it has hosted a wide variety of bands from college rock genres. During the late 80s and early 90s, Blind Pig showcased a series of bands, including Soundgarden, Screaming Trees, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam and Nirvana.
