Albert G. Dickinson and his brother, H. Randel, established Dickinson Press, formerly known as Dickinson Brothers, in 1884 in Painesville, Ohio. In 1886 they moved the fledgling company to Grand Rapids, Mich. Determining the need for a new building, they selected the site immediately north of St. Mark s Episcopal Church on Division Avenue and completed their new 40,000 square foot building in 1908. Dickinson Press is an employee-owned book manufacturer. It serves publishers and organizations that keep Christian principles and practices. Dickinson Press employs more than 125 people; operating equipment that includes web- and sheet-fed presses and fully-automated high-speed book binders. It produces bibles, dictionaries, reference books, trade, mass-market books as well as children s books, catalogs and a variety of other printed literature for religious and secular publishers throughout the United States.
