Established in 1928, the Saginaw County Department of Public Health, also known as SCDPH, is responsible for the protection of public health. It administers the Blood Lead Testing Program for children between the ages of 1 and 5. The department maintains several immunization clinics throughout Saginaw County in Michigan. It offers vaccinations against diphtheria, tetanus, polio, measles, mumps, rubella and meningitis. The Saginaw County Department of Public Health also provides a range of substance abuse treatment and prevention services. Its dental services division offers topical fluoride treatment solutions to children in kindergarten through grade 12. Additionally, the department maintains family planning and sexually transmitted disease clinics.
