Rick Arias received a bachelor of science degree in human physiology from Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation at Boston University. He went on to receive his degree as a doctor of medicine from Ross University School of Medicine in the West Indies.Arias completed a residency in family medicine at AdventHealth, during which he served as Chief Resident, Wellness President, and a GME Resident Association representative. During residency, he applied full spectrum care in varying levels of acuity in many different specialties.Arias past work experience includes broad spectrum medicine with training in the emergency department, inpatient care, outpatient care, and specialty clinics. He worked in Vietnam with the Tropical Disease and Emergency Medicine Global Health Mission where he assisted in treating and managing acute cases in extreme, resource limited atmospheres. Arias has also provided sideline coverage for high school athletes and worked as a primary care sports medicine physician which built experience evaluating musculoskeletal injuries, concussions, and more. His work experience also includes working with an underserved population in a community clinic.He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American College of Emergency Physicians, and the Florida Academy of Family Physicians. Arias joined Oaklawn in 2022.
