Formerly a middle school, Power Upper Elementary School now serves students in grades 5-6. The school meets Annual Yearly Progress as defined by the federal No Child Left Behind Act and received an "A" on its State of Michigan composite report card. Power faculty, staff and community have established a mission to "provide a safe and caring environment, which allows students and staff to maximize individual growth as they make transitions in a changing world." The LOC Federal Credit Union at Power opened in 2010, operated by 6th grade students under the direction of an LOC Federal Credit Union employee. Students are able to open and manage their own personal savings accounts, and credit union services are also available to parents, faculty and staff one day per week.
