One of the oldest clubs in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Pine Grove Country Club offers a golf course in a north woods environment. Located in the heart of Iron Mountain, Mich., two hours north of Green Bay, Wis., Pine Grove's 18-hole course is carved out of virgin stands of white pine, red pine, oaks and maple trees. The challenging terrain features an 84-foot elevation change. Pine Grove is a semi-private golf club dating back to 1902. The course has state-of-the-art course maintenance technology, including double-row irrigation. The original 9-hole course was upgraded to 18 holes in a Packard redesign in the 1960s. The 20,000-square-foot clubhouse, designed by Zimmerman Design Group of Milwaukee, was completed in 2002. Pro shop, locker room, food, beverage, meeting and banquet services are available. The golf course is open from April through October 31, while the Pine Grove Country Club remains open year-round.
