History
Northville Historical Society formed in 1963 as a small group with its primary aim to save their old Library doomed to demolition. Ford Motor Company donated approximately 12.5 acres of land including a pond, to the City of Northville for use as a historical village and park. The church was the first structure moved to this site which became Mill Race Village. The society's focus has been the preservation and display of architectural styles and furnishings of the nineteenth century. The Village consists of an inn, blacksmith shop, school, church, gazebo, rustic wooden bridge, Interurban station, general store and several homes reminiscent of an era gone by. The Cady Inn houses Northville's archives which are open to the public for research.
