History
Construction of the North Star Resort was first started in 1945 and opened its doors in 1950. Back in the day the Olympic size swimming pool was still fully functional and beautiful. Per rumors, it was a hot spot for celebrities, and Johnny Weismueller (the original Tarzan) would stay here and swim in the pool. Over the years, after about 5 different owners, the resort has been in various stages of repair and disrepair. The pool has gradually deteriorated and is in the process of being filled in. As relatively new owners, over the past 5 years we have made a lot of repairs - most of which you can not see such as new plumbing, electrical, insulation, new roofs. We have groomed the campground, put in horseshoe pits and a very large stone BBQ (some guests roast pigs on it). Plans for the future include new floors, light fixtures and other amenities, but for now the interiors are still as they were in 1950.
