Opened in l99l, the Community Center organizes several cultural, educational, recreational and social activities and events. It offers rooms on a rental basis. The center also has space that can accommodate up to 125 guests for parties. The Community Center offers programs for senior citizens that include movies, day trips and dances. It administers the Pointe Area Assisted Transportation Service program for senior citizens with developmental disabilities. The center conducts fitness and health classes. The Community Center is responsible for quarterly city newsletter Updates and cable TV announcements. It is governed by the City of Grosse Pointe Woods in Michigan.
