Nestledown was designed to reflect the Finnish/Scandinavian heritage of the Innkeepers and Upper Michigan’s immigrant past. Room at the Inn is a private non-profit organization in Marquette, MI, dedicated to providing food, shelter, and assistance to individuals transitioning out of homelessness. Founded in 2007 by a group of churches led by Helen McCormick, the organization operated as a rotating shelter until 2020 when it established Marquette's first permanent emergency homeless shelter, offering 24/7 access to a 30-bed facility.
