Mid-State Health Network (MSHN) is the Prepaid Inpatient Health Plan (PIHP) for twenty-one counties in Michigan, working in partnership with the Community Mental Health (CMH) agencies of these counties. MSHN, along with the CMHs and local providers, offers mental health services to adults with severe and persistent mental illness, children with severe emotional disturbance, individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities, and those with substance use disorders. Their mission is to ensure access to high-quality, locally-delivered, effective, and accountable public behavioral health and substance use disorder services, while their vision is to continually improve the health of communities through premier behavioral healthcare and leadership.
Committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, Mid-State Health Network strives to achieve better equity in their organization and region, diversify their workforce and stakeholders, and eliminate bias, discrimination, and health disparities in the healthcare services they support. Their strategic plan is based on cooperative discussions, partnership with their substance use disorder provider network, and planning and operations that reflect a realistic evolutionary process.
