History
Our practice was established in 1999 by Dr. Teck Mun Soo, an internationally-acclaimed neurosurgeon who has received recognition for his success in complex spine cases. Since the beginning of his career, the standard of care he has held himself to has remained the standard of quality for the practice as a whole. Our practice has grown to seven board-certified surgeons who share this same standard, taking each patient's preference, lifestyle, and involvement of the family into account when making surgical decisions. We are an expanding group of neurosurgeons and orthopedic spine surgeons who treat over 2,000 spine and brain cases per year, along with the highest volume of minimally invasive spine surgeries in Michigan. The diversity of subspecialties among our surgeons, including cerebrovascular skullbase, neuroendovascular intervention, neuro-oncology, and complex spine, has allowed us to treat virtually every spine and brain condition currently treatable by surgery with high success.
Specialties
Our practice is a multi-disciplinary group of Neurosurgeons and Orthopedic surgeons, with subspecialty training in complex spine surgery, neuroendovascular intervention, cerebrovascular, skull base, and neuro-oncology. We are an expanding group with a high volume spine practice of over 2,000 spine cases per year. Our group performs the largest volume of minimally invasive spine surgeries in Michigan. Apart from surgical and clinical excellence, we pursue evidence-based practice, with a commitment to patient education, outcome research, and customer satisfaction. Our hospital has one of the 4 accredited allopathic neurosurgical training programs in Michigan. Our practice believes that surgery is the last resort for the treatment of spinal and cranial disorders. This is especially true with spinal fusion, which is an undertaking only after careful consideration. We believe in working with the patient's preference, lifestyle and the involvement of the family in the decision making process.
