Loeschner's Village Green Miniature Golf is one of the oldest family-owned and operated miniature golf businesses in the country. The courses were designed and built by Ray Loeschner in 1955 to pay his way through graduate school at Northwestern University. He is a golfer, so he laid out the courses much like real golf courses, with dog legs right and left, angle shots, obstacles and real sand traps. He wanted the game to be challenging, as well as fun, for all ages. Village Green's patrons agree he accomplished his goal! Today, his son, Mark, who has been involved with the miniature golf operation since 1978, leases the courses from Loeschner Enterprises and operates them - and his son, Mark, Jr. is getting interested too. It's a Loeschner family tradition! Footnote: If you're looking for a limousine to take your group to the golf course in style - or to a football game, dinner, the theatre, the prom, a wedding, or just drive around town, Mark's year-round business is City Lights Limousine Service. Visit his web site at www.citylights.8m.com, then call ( 616 ) 530-3082 and book a ride. His rates are reasonable.
