Founded in 1972, Lawton High School offers a college preparatory curriculum that includes various subjects, such as science, mathematics, computer technology and physical education. It operates a library that features a collection of fiction and nonfiction books and reference materials. The school also maintains a guidance department that assists students and parents with personal problems, questions, college applications, career information and job placements. Its sports activities include basketball, football, baseball, hockey and volleyball. Located in Lawton, Mich., Lawton High School is a part of Lawton Community Schools, which serves students in kindergarten through grade 12. Lawton Community Schools offers Title I, special education and bilingual programs. The system is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
