HistoryDr. Kari Visser-Robel received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Ferris State University. She externed in various cities in Michigan including Big Rapids, Detroit, Taylor, and Allen Park. Following her externships, she began working as an optometrist at ABBA Eyecare in Colorado Springs, Colorado from 1994-1995 She then decided to move back to Michigan where she began working at Alpine Eye Care in Gaylord from 1995-2000. In 2000, Dr. Visser-Robel began her own practice in Gaylord, Michigan.SpecialtiesDr. Visser-Robel examines for and treats dry eyes, diabetes, cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. She prescribes contact lenses, eyeglasses, and vision therapy. Our office has a visual field computer, which tests for vision loss due to glaucoma and drooping eyelids. We also have a retinal camera on site, which takes pictures of the back of the eye. We have recently upgraded to electronic medical records (EHR's) to assist our patients in receiving the best medical care available.
