History
The 18-hole Interlochen Golf Club opened in 1965. Designed by Hubert Morris, this semi-private course measures 6415 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 130 and a 70.5 USGA rating. The club dining room was named the Hagan Room after the dashing professional golfer Walter Hagan. Hagan won eleven professional majors and was a regular at the club after he retired to Traverse City. In 2016, the course was purchased by Brad Dean. Dean, an award-winning Michigan PGA golf professional who served as the Director of Golf at Crystal Mountain Resort for 23 years. For the summer of 2018, golfers will see continuing improvements at the course including bunker renovation and a stunning new entryway from the road.
