Hesperia Map
Hesperia is a village in Newaygo and Oceana counties in the U.S. state of Michigan. About half of the village lies in Newfield Township in Oceana County and half in Denver Township in Newaygo County. The population was 954 at the 2000 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.2 km²), of which, 0.8 square miles (2.1 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (3.53%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 954 people, 393 households, and 244 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,159.9 per square mile (449.2/km²). There were 438 housing units at an average density of 532.5 per square mile (206.2/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 94.44% White, 0.42% African American, 1.47% Native American, 1.05% Asian, 0.63% from other races, and 1.99% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.94% of the population.
