History
Happy Hooves was created year 2010 over a drink at dinner at a local restaurant. I, Crystal Birchmeier, had worked for many barns as a director and assistant instructor of other people's programs. I grew up in the horse business, and am fortunate enough to have a family who owns a lovely riding facility. So on the night I decided to start my own program. Thanks to the help of friends I started by using other people's horses at my family's stable. From there I started to branch out and buy my own school horses. Now I have a full riding academy in swing that only continues to grow. It has flourished into a equine consignment shop as well. Excited to see where it continues to lead me.
Specialties
At Happy Hooves we specialize in teaching horse and rider to become one. Helping riders to develop a relationship with the horse that they ride. Classical Dressage and fundamental natural horsemanship is taught. Riders are encouraged to participate as much as they can in all Happy Hooves had to offer; from riding in lessons, to attending shows, becoming a member in the horse club, and working in the shop. Fostering a desire to be a part of the horse community for life, is a goal of Happy Hooves. We strive to see each rider accomplish all that they can while having a fun and educational experience.
