Gogebic Community College, founded in 1932 and located in Ironwood, Mich., is a public, two-year community college offering a range of educational programs to more than 1,300 students. The programs of study are divided into two groups, those oriented toward students planning to transfer to four year universities and those oriented toward students planning to enter directly into the labor market after graduation. The college s transfer programs comprise the associate of science and associate of arts. Its technical programs include associate of applied science, associate of applied business and associate of applied technology. The institution also offers five degrees, such as associate of arts, associate of science, associate of applied science, associate of applied business and the associate of applied technology. The college has a student-faculty ratio of 13-to-1, and is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
