Founded in 1980 and located in Detroit, Girl Scouts of Metro Detroit is a nonprofit organization that offers a variety of recreational programs and events for girls between the ages of 5 and 17. It provides training for the development of leadership skills for volunteers. Girl Scouts of Metro Detroit offers Puppy Love, Zoofari and Saddle-Up programs. The organization also provides summer day camps for Daisy, Brownie, Junior and Older Girl Scouts. It offers Project GROW for girls who live in public housing facilities. Girl Scouts of Metro Detroit also organizes fundraising events to provide financial assistance services for members. The organization is a member of the United Way.
