Fordson is one of four high schools in the Dearborn Schools District, and is a recognized historic site. It is known for its unique architecture, which attracts visitors and is supported by a rich history.
Fordson's mascot is the Tractors, which some say is related to Ford Motor Company's production of tractors; others date the name back to Fordson basketball games in the 1920s. The school boasts football, basketball, hockey, cross country and other teams as well as many additional after-school activities.
