The Ferndale Police Department provides law enforcement services to the residents of the city of Ferndale, Mich. It responds to emergency calls, accidents and other police-related matters. The department is comprised of more than 40 sworn male and female officers. It offers bike patrol, case investigation, gun registration, crime prevention and emergency readiness services. The Ferndale Police Department conducts house checks, senior visits, street light outage surveys and a chaplain program. In addition, it has an auxiliary unit that performs various functions, including art fairs, pride fests, foot frolics, homecoming parades, flag raising ceremonies and Olympic torch runs. The Ferndale Police Department has been operational for more than 85 years.
