Founded 1978, the Ennis Center for Children is a nonprofit, licensed child placement agency that provides foster care, adoption and support services for children and families. It serves abused, neglected, abandoned, and medically and emotionally underprivileged children from poor, minority and at-risk backgrounds. The agency provides a range of support programs related to mental health, delinquency, reintegration and post-adoption. The Ennis Center for Children offers recruitment, orientation, training, placement, supervision and advocacy services for children and families through its adoption program. It administers the Intensive In-Home Services program, which includes intensive support and in-home mentoring and home counseling services for delinquent youths and families. The Ennis Center for Children maintains a location in Flint, Mich.
