History
The Early Learning Center was incorporated in January 1975, for the purpose of providing a unique preschool program for children in the Ann Arbor area. The corporation has a non-profit status and is operated by a Board of Trustees consisting of parents of present or former students. It is licensed by the State of Michigan and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The Early Learning Center is not a cooperative and therefore all parental involvement is optional. Parents are encouraged to participate in parties and events and to share their special talents or interests with the children at other times during the school year. Weekly classroom fliers, monthly newsletters, and the parent bulletin board keep parents informed of day-to-day events. Telephone and parent-teacher conferences are conducted yearly. Additional conferences may be requested by either teacher or parent if the need arises.
