The Diocese of Lansing was established in 1937 by Pope Pius XI and comprises more than 10 U.S. counties that cover an area of over 6,000 square miles. It manages various catholic private schools, colleges and universities. The Diocese of Lansing s College of Consultors council assists bishop in the governance of diocese. It maintains a range of ministries that include campus, catholic schools, evangelization, adult faith formation, family life, youth and young adult. The diocese operates the St. Francis Retreat Center, which conducts a range of parish retreat sessions, as well as maintains a bookstore and gift shop that provide more than 7,000 volumes of religious books and gifts for baptism, first communion and confirmation celebrations.
