Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation is a nonprofit community organization that offers a variety of bilingual services to more than 10,000 youth, adults and families annually. It maintains a staff of over 40 employees that works for the development and implementation of youth gang, substance abuse and violence prevention programs. The center also offers alternative educational programs, parent training and advocacy, HIV/AIDS prevention education and counseling services. It operates Urban Arts Academy Alternative High School, which provides alternative educational services to youth who are struggling to succeed in traditional classroom settings. Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation has been operational since 1997 and is located in Detroit.
