History
Members of the local community theatre scene banded together to start the improv team Crawlspace Eviction. Under the direction of Dann Sytsma, the team has been performing monthly shows in Kalamazoo since 2003. CE has been to the Toronto International Improv Festival twice. In 2006, the team wrote and starred in the movie Comic Evangelists, which premiered at the AFI Fest in Hollywood, CA. The film was directed by Dan Jones and Dann Sytsma and received great honors from film festivals from Hollywood to Lansing, MI. In 2008, the team Kind of Pretty Women was created to build a more sketch based presence in the company. The team enjoyed great recognition for their offbeat style and unique perspective on comedy. The team t&a was created by Adam Carter and Tara Sytsma. They performed regularly in Kalamazoo, and made an outstanding impression at the 2009 Chicago Improv Festival. The teams can be seen regularly at their home theatre, Farmers Alley Theatre.
