History
Broomstack Kitchen & Taphouse is located in one of Leelanau County's historic schoolhouses. Built in the 1920's, the schoolhouse has been restored to highlight some if it's best original features. Dine in the original classroom adorned with relics from the old school itself! The building saw it's last graduating class in 1956 and has been a community education center and restaurant since then. We are now, along with the Leelanau Curling Club and Sleeping Bear Bay Fitness trying to give it a new life for many years to come. We are proud to be a part of the Maple City community and history!
