History
Family continues to own and operate the farm. Brothers William and George Fritz, Jr., partner together to continue the family business now named Brookside Farms. With their children they operate the farm, making the farm a 7th generation farm - 5th as blueberry growers. All berries not sold through the retail locations are sold commercially, exclusively through Naturipe Farms. These berries are 90% handpicked with the help of many migrant workers. The farm can house up to 750 migrant workers at any one time. In 2013, the farm picked 4.2 million pounds of fresh blueberries, processed a half million berries, and 100,000 pounds were picked by u-pick customers.
Specialties
Our goal as a family farm is to provide a safe and nutritious product for the consumer. We are devoted, hardworking, and love what we do. We have made a long-term commitment to be responsible stewards of the land. We consider it a privilege and blessing to grow blueberries for our customers. We love living and working on the farm, there is no other place we would rather be! The home farm has 350 acres planted with blueberries. We custom pick and pack 500 acres in the Holland/Muskegon area. The farm has three retail/u-pick locations in the Gobles, Paw Paw, and Martin communities in Michigan.
