The Bloomfield Hills Public Safety Department is an integrated police and fire department where personnel are cross-trained to respond to fires, medical emergencies and situations requiring a police response.
Officers work on mixed 8-hour and 24-hour shifts to provide both police and fire duties. Some members are also trained in sub-specialties, such as K-9 unit, hazardous materials response, evidence technician and sniper.
The department is housed in the same building on the city's municipal campus off East Long Lake Road just east of Woodward Avenue.
