History
Bell & Sons was founded in 1957 by Carl and Helen Bell as a distributor of Franklin dry roasted peanuts to bars and party stores in the Metro Detroit Area. The first warehouse was a corner of their garage on Royal Grand between Five and Six Mile Roads in Redford Township. In 1979 Carl and Helen retired and Bell & Sons continued to expand under the ownership of their son, Thomas and his wife, Christine. Steady growth was reflected in a 1300 sq. ft. addition to the Woodbine building in 1980, Gregory Bell (grandson) in sales in 1982, and additional trucks and office staff in 1987. In 1988 we moved to a new 8800 sq. ft. location at 26514 W. Seven Mile Road with computerization in 1989 and steady increases in sales, office and warehouse/delivery staffing. In 1996 presented an opportunity to purchase an adjoining 4800 sq. ft. building to help warehouse 5000 different products plus an expansion into foodservice equipment sales.
