Bay Regional Medical Center, also known as BMC, is a 413-bed regional referral center, serving a seven-county area in the central panhandle of Florida. Chartered in 1949 as Memorial Hospital of Bay County, Bay Medical's capacity, services, staff and technology have expanded. Bay Medical has more than 200 physicians on staff representing virtually every medical specialty and a support staff of more than 2,000 employees. Serving the community for more than 55 years, BMC provides a variety of medical-surgical services, including inpatient and outpatient surgery, one of the only open-heart surgery programs within 100 miles, gastroenterology, a sleep disorders center, a dedicated pediatric unit, obstetrics and gynecology, radiation/oncology services. In addition, the company also has a 24-hour emergency services staffed with board certified emergency physicians. The medical center has many support services including the childhood communications disorders clinic, rehabilitation facilities and respiratory therapy.
