Marcellus Map
Marcellus is a village in Cass County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,162 at the 2000 census. The village is located within Marcellus Township. It is part of the South Bend–Mishawaka, IN-MI, Metropolitan Statistical Area.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.8 km²), of which, 0.7 square miles (1.8 km²) of it is land and 1.45% is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,162 people, 437 households, and 319 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,719.3 per square mile (659.8/km²). There were 462 housing units at an average density of 683.6 per square mile (262.3/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 96.82% White, 0.86% African American, 0.52% Native American, 0.09% Asian, 0.34% from other races, and 1.38% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.12% of the population.
