The National Sporting Goods Association is a trade association, serving retailers, dealers, wholesalers, manufacturers and sales agents in the sporting goods industry since 1929. Its members operate over 22,000 retail and Internet outlets, which sell sports, fitness and recreational equipment, footwear and sportswear. Based in Mount Prospect, Ill., the association also organizes international-trade show in Chicago for nearly 70 years and a regional-trade show in Southern California for more than 40 years. Additionally, the National Sporting Goods Association publishes several newsletters, including NSGA Sporting Goods Alert, NSGA Research News, Team Line-Up and Athletic Footwear News.
