Walker is a nonprofit organization that provides a range of services to individuals between the ages of 3 and 22 with emotional, behavioral and learning disabilities. It is a network of facilities that offers mental health, training, consulting and child welfare advocacy solutions. The organization administers the Walker Intensive Residential Treatment Program. Walker also conducts campus-based respite care programs that include structured and therapeutic recreational activities. It operates The Walker School, which is an academic day program for children with high-risk behaviors, chronic mental illnesses and language disorders. The organization s Walker Partnerships provides direct staff support, professional development and student and program evaluation services to more than 40 school systems and several educational institutions in the Greater Boston and Worcester areas in Massachusetts.
