The Governor s Office operates communications and press, constituent services, federal relations, grassroots governance, community affairs and operations divisions. It also operates legislative affairs and legal counsel divisions. The office is governed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, which provides a range of services for the residents of Massachusetts through various departments. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts maintains arts, community development, education, energy resources, environment, finance, and transportation and public works departments. Its finance division operates the bureau of accounts that oversees the financial management of more than 350 cities and towns in Massachusetts. The government offers the State Data Center Program, which provides data to the public through a network of agencies, universities, libraries, and regional and local governments.
