Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue
HistoryOur organization was founded by a few dedicated individuals determined to make a difference for homeless Goldens in New England. Today we operate with a small but highly committed professional staff on campus and a whole host of volunteers off campus. From home-visits to transportation to dog walking, volunteers from our membership help us be the outstanding rescue we've become. We are a full-service rescue and we assist Goldens of all ages and medical conditions. Our youngest rescue Golden was part of an abandoned litter born at Riverview (our rescue and adoption facility) and our oldest rescue Golden was fourteen at the time of admission to our program. We rescued our first Golden in April, 1985 and placed our 5000th Golden during the year 2013. YGRR relies on donations, fund-raising activities and memberships for its income. We do not receive any state or federal funds. Donations to YGRR are tax deductible.SpecialtiesYGRR is a non-profit, charitable 501(c)(3) organization which provides veterinary care and permanent new homes for Golden Retrievers from the six New England states (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont). It's our goal to help local dogs of any age find loving families in New England. We excel in re-homing senior Goldens and dogs of any age who have orthopedic needs. All our Goldens live at our kennel/headquarters 'Riverview' until they are adopted. Any photos highlight previously adopted Goldens from our program, and occasionally current residents and upcoming events We cannot accommodate drop-in visitors to our facility. Prospective adopters visit YGRR by appointment AFTER their adoption application has been approved. Please visit www.ygrr.org for more information.
