This Dominican sandwich bar boasts a sleek and cheery storefront in its Hyde Park neighborhood, and the inside stand-up counter offers pressed sandwiches and fresh fruit smoothies.
The menu is limited to just 15 sandwiches. Hand-shredded and slow-roasted pork shoulder and chicken are popular picks, and all sandwiches are made to order and finished on a sandwich press. A drizzle of ketchup and mayo is Tostado's signature garnish.
Breakfast sandwiches (fried egg, cheese, and optional ham or bacon) are available daily until 11 a.m. Smoothies (called batidos) are blended onsite and made with fresh fruit such as strawberries, pineapples, mangoes and bananas. There's also fresh-squeezed orange, carrot and lemon juice available.
