Situated on the Charles River, Auburndale Cove is a spot for locals to watch a baseball game, enjoy wildlife or have a leisurely walk through the woods. From ice skating in the winter time to basketball and tennis courts, "The Cove" has a wide variety of recreation options.
Aside from the athletic fields, The Cove has several 100-person, 50-perosn and 20-person picnic areas available for people to reserve through the Parks & Recreation Department. Each site is complete with picnic tables and a grill. Alcohol is not permitted in the picnic area unless the proper alcohol permit is obtained through the city.
A wooded area along the river also includes a 1.3-mile life course, which has several stations along the trail with fitness exercises.
Public transit: Auburndale Cove is just over a half mile walk from the Auburndale MBTA Commuter Rail station (purple line, Framingham/Worcester line). The #505 and #558 MBTA buses also stop nearby at the intersection of Lexington Street and Freeman Street.
