New Bedford Yacht Club was incorporated by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for supporting athletic activities and yachting. It is a nonprofit organization that serves yachting enthusiasts of all ages through boating and recreational activities. The club also serves as a meeting place for its members and guests and has more than 500 members. It offers various waterfront and boating activities, such as sailing, cruising, racing, rowing and fishing. Additionally, it organizes educational sailboat racing programs for encouraging yachting in communities.
