Formed as The Shrewsbury Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union as a cooperative financial institution. Federally chartered in 1985, membership expanded to employees of Boylston, West Boylston & postal workers. Renamed Shrewsbury Federal Credit Union (SFCU) in 2003, membership opened to anyone who lives, works, or worships in these towns. Today SFCU serves a broader area (Shrewsbury & all its contiguous towns) & has remained solid, successful & secure due to our stable foundation of conservative investment practices & responsible lending.
