Founded in 1876, Russell's Garden Center was formerly a combination of farm, meat market and grocery store that later evolved in to one of the leading plant nurseries in New England. Based in Wayland, Mass., the center carries a wide assortment of annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs and nursery stock. It also provides houseplants, roses, seeds and a range of vegetables, including broccoli, sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, lettuce, onions, peas, cucumbers, eggplant and tomatoes. Russell's Garden Center supplies organic/inorganic fertilizers, mulch, insect repellents, gardening tools and Christmas displays. In addition, the center specializes in wooden or iron garden edging, garden sculptures, hose guides, composters and brass thermometers.
