Directions to our Theater Quannapowitt Playhouse is located at 55 Hopkins Street, Reading, Massachusetts, just off Main Street/Route 28. About QP Quannapowitt Players, Inc have been in the business of providing quality, volunteer-run, community theater for over 65 years. Renown for their depth of talent, both in the actors who are featured on stage and the technicians who build the "magic", QP provides an inexpensive alternative to the theater hosted in Boston. Come join us for an evening - we guarantee you will be delighted by the quality and craftsmanship of our performers and technicians! Our home is a turn-of-the-century red schoolhouse, a historic building in the town of Reading, Massachusetts. Our home offers a delightful black-box performance space, with intimate seating for 160 patrons and handicap seating and parking. QP has a volunteer membership of approximately 125 thespians and a season subscription base of over 700 patrons. Our membership come from all walks of life and we prosper from the diversity these dedicated people bring to our theater. QP hosts 5 full productions each year ; selections that include examples of the comedy, mystery, drama, musical, and farce plays available. Additionally, QP participates in the annual Eastern Massachusetts Association of Community Theatres' ( EMACT ) Drama Festival. Exceptions to this happen if a show is in production, in which case the meeting is held on the first Friday night following the closing night of the show. These meetings are open to all members and anyone interested in joining in the fun with us!
