The all-volunteer Oak Bluffs Fire Department is located on Firehouse Lane. The department is comprised of approximately 80 firefighters, six full-time EMS personnel and 20 volunteer EMTs. Gilbert A. Forend serves as chief. The Oak Bluffs Fire Museum, which houses historical memorabilia, is located behind the firehouse.
