Brockton Junior High School, governed by the Brockton Public Schools, offers classes from grades sixth through eighth. Its curriculum includes arts, bilingual education, business, English, family and consumer sciences, foreign languages, health education, math, music, vocational and physical education, science, and social studies. It offers special education programs for students with disabilities. The school also provides after school programs, guidance services, peer mediation programs, yearbook preparation, interscholastic team sports, intramural athletic program, parent involvement activities, science fair, and band and chorus program. It has a drama club and student council, and publishes the North Star School Newspaper. Built in 1957, it has more than 20 classrooms, instructional computer lab, an access center, handicapped-accessible ramp, gymnasium, library, 700-seat auditorium, and soccer, softball and baseball fields. It is located in Brockton, Mass.
