Founded in 1967, the New England Science Fiction Association, also known as NESFA, is one of the oldest science fiction clubs in New England. It is a nonprofit literary organization that has a panel of judges that chooses artists and provides the Jack Gaughan Award. The organization also offers the Edward E. Smith Memorial Award for imaginative fiction annually. The New England Science Fiction Association maintains a clubhouse and conducts story contests.
