The Lipton Center is a private, nonprofit, social service organization that has been a training site for graduate schools for social work for more than 75 years. It serves a variety of individuals who are of lower socioeconomic status and are underserved. The Lipton Center is a member of UMass Memorial Health Care. It is a division of Community Healthlink, which serves people with metal disabilities and substance abuse problems with health assessment, medical screening, counseling, substance abuse rehabilitation and referral services. Community Healthlink maintains several crisis stabilization units that provide short-term crisis resolution and therapeutic and psychiatric treatment in a structured environment for men and women above the age of 18.
