History
Lea Tam Acupuncture was established in Boston in 1982 by husband and wife Lea Tam and Tom Tam, both Chinese immigrants who arrived in the United States to start a new life in a new country. Lea is still actively practicing acupuncture in the clinic along with her son Bell Tam and daughter Yvonne Tam. All 3 holds certifications and licenses to practice acupuncture. Bell and Yvonne are second generation acupuncturists who have served as apprentices in the clinic learning from both Tom and Lea from a very young age. Both Bell and Yvonne hold a Master's Degree in Acupuncture. Tom recently retired in 2013 after practicing acupuncture for 30 years to pursue teaching and writing about his healing expertise and experience Today, our office is still located in Boston's Chinatown and is one of the longest standing acupuncture clinics in Massachusetts. We also have an office in Quincy MA and Haverhill MA.

Our practice offers a wide range of expertise. We work with patients of all ages and those as young as 2 years old. Our range of specialties include but are not limited to acute/chronic pain, sciatica, injuries, weight management, dementia, Lyme disease, multiple sclerosis, ADD/ADHD, hormonal imbalance, infertility, autoimmune disorders. We have a wide range of patients who seek our services related to cancer as well as for complimentary treatment to traditional cancer treatments especially for increasing physical energy as well as decreasing side effects of traditional chemotherapy. The cornerstones of our services include acupuncture treatment based on the Tom Tam Healing System, Tam Style Tui Na Therapy and Tong Ren Therapy.
