History
The FirePit style of preparing a hot dog originates in the Roosevelt FDR era Whitehouse. President FDR served the hotdog to the King and Queen of England during their 1939 picnic at his Hyde Park residence. The method was passed on through, Whitehouse cooks, to the first class 'Pullman Car', railway kitchens. After serving it 30 years on the streets of Boston a colorful Pulman-Car-Porter called Boston Speed, taught it to Larry Joe. A 2005 Wall St Journal article recognized 'The Boston Speed Dog' as the best hot dog in the nation compared to dogs in Atlanta, New York, Boston, Chicago and Los Angeles. The FirePit proudly continues this Presidential style of hotdog preparation. The FirePit hotdog stands on the shoulders of southern style food preparation giants. Large window, 'show-case-cooking', personal food preparation is our hallmark. We are proud to serve a uniquely delicious and novel product in a first-class-style. 'Taste!......The final frontier!'
